A scary, stressful but memorable journey back to Penang

Our day start really smooth when we checked out of the hotel.. We leave for Penang at about 1.30pm.. As we drove down..like 3 minutes..the fuel indicator appear on the metre..our fuel was like 1/8 of the tank..so we tried to find a petrol station..and we found ESSO..we turned into ESSO and then suddenly thought..maybe we could fill at PETRONAS..so Lah's GPS was saying PETRONAS is only 7.9km away.. that ain't far..so we drove..when we thought back..maybe we should just fill ESSO..just in case..so we turn again..then we got a little lost and enter a dead end...so did a 3 point turning and BAM!!! the bottom right hand side hit the divider..a very low divider...we all got panic and go down to see what had happen.. the mudd guard was broken, the wiper storage thing is also broken, the tyre was a little torn and my rim got a big scratch..Gosh.. it was hard..

So, we drove and drove and got lost and we passed the ESSO! CRAP! so we thought, ahh no use to turn back..so we drove to PETRONAS following Joyce's instruction..then suddenly there was a lot of smoke coming out of booth the front tyre..so we stopped and i was thinking..oh no..this isnt happening..i asked everyone to get out of the car..panicked..then a blue car with 2 chinese guys pull over. one of them checked the brake disc..he said it's spoilt..we said we just got both of the brake disc changed..so he said..then the smoke is due to the new disc..so it's normal..then he checked our tyre..he said..the tyre can't be use anymore or it can burst anytime and we can get out of control.. So tLah changed the tyre..Gosh..the spare tyre was extra small..because my tyre surface is really big so we could only drive like 60 to 70 km per hr..so when we drove..we were super slow..

When Joyce said..almost reach PETRONAS..there were 2 roads..so we took the right one.. She said "RECALCULATING..DRIVE 19KM" Gosh!!! we were so frustrated..and it's a highway..and the indicator keeps appearing.. then we found this highway telephone where you can call for help..we run into 3 and all 3 were broken..even more stressful..but at least i got to try dialing that thing..haha.. so we drive again..and finally got to a BHP petrol station..but guess what..it's the other side of the highway!!!.. so we pull over where a lot of "kakak jual lemang"..and Lah and myself, for the very first time in our life..ran across on the highway to the station..when we got there..they said they didnt have anything to fill the fuel in..then when the guy tried to find...he found 2 containers..and it's not all proper..but what the heck..so before we cross over, the guy said we need to pay for the container..RM10..we thought ok ..we said we were coming back for more..so we'll pay later..so he said ok..so again we ran across and tried to fill..guess what..we need to push the thing inside so the oil can go in..we took mom's chopstick and tried to push but it almost drop inside..LUCKY IT DIDNT!!! so a lady came and helped us..she twist a mineral bottle and push the thing in..Finally we got some fuel.. i wanted to send back the container but the anty stopped me and said just leave it there..but i said the guy said we need to pay for it, she said..he's lying..her son works there and we dont have to pay for that..so we live it there and stared driving again..that guy must be really pissed!

As soon as we got to Kl..instead of Penang..we fill our petrol..this time .. FULL TANK!!..ahaha we found a few shop for the tyre..but a lot of them doesnt have my car's tyre stock..they said it need to be ordered..until we reached the 4 shop and finally he got the stock..so with all the tyre, alignment and balancing..total cost of RM245..KA-CHING!! AGAIN!! owh i forgot..when they were fixing the tyre, lah and me loaded the luggage back in the trunk and guess what...the metal that holds the trunk cover thing was broken..it just snapped!! oh no!! so..we thought nvm, we'll get it fix in Penang..

We started driving and the nearest place to eat was KFC..so we went to KFC gombak..a place that we never imagine we would go eat at..

so we start our journey back to Penang at about 5.30pm..on our way back..on the highway..guess what..we were on the fast lane..suddenly a yellow car..probably sleepy or doing something else..skid a little into our lane and lucky Lah was able to control our car..almost hit the divider..CRAP!!!

Finally we reached Penang at 8.50pm..and everything was ok..Thank God!

Day 6 (18th March 2009)

YAY!! It's outdoor time!! when we woke up..we got ready and went for the breakfast in the cafe..the buffet was normal..not to say very good or very bad..but if anyone wants to eat at the first world cafe..i guess it would be better to find other place to eat..we had 2 adults tickets for free so we had to pay for another adult and child..total of RM41..which is expensive..

Then we went to the ticketing counter to buy the ticket..i could tell you we enter that place for like 3 to 4 times being undecided..finally we bought the ticket..we head straight to the outdoor park..Our first ride was a plane..it was meant for kids..but what the heck..lol.. then we tried this roller coaster..it was like a transporter in a mine..when it drops..OMG..i could only tell you it was really scary..my butt flew off the chair..Doz was like shouting in enjoyment..haha

Then it was the spinner, where we sat on the chair with our legs hanging and it keeps turning...felt like i was going to hit the Marrybrown Fast food signage hanging up there...it was extreme...

As we walked, we saw this ride where you sit in a ..i dont know what is that...looks like a ride..then it was a little extreme..but we didnt want to tell mom..so we said it was easy and slow..so she tried it out with us,,and man..she was all over the place..it was really funny and a good laugh..hahahaha...

when we sit in a mini train,gosh, all i did was yawning.. so slow..haha..Also tried the ferris wheel, too high, asked the guy to stop, he said another 2 rounds..CRAP!!

After trying that, me and lah went up the ship..looks pretty easy..but when ur up there, ur heart feels like it gonna get ripped. We were all dizzy after that..hahaha

We tried Go Kart too..born a pro..hahaha

After all the park rides, the most extreme was the "Flying Coaster" it was really crazy..it's a ride where you get to fly like superman..you will lie on ur tummy, then the coaster will move and bring you fly..i scream all the way..lah was up there for 3 times..i can't even stand the first time..CRAZY!! no it's INSANE!!

What's best for the day, is that we tried the skydive..wow it was awesome..i can't describe how awesome it was..we got certs for it too..


A very long and tiring day but it was a great fun with a stress free day..felt like a kid again..will let you in on our trip back to penang..it was crazier!!later..

Day 5 (17th March 2009)

This is our last day in KL. Though our trip in KL is finishing but we are starting a new one in Genting..
As we planned our trip this morning..as usual..Lah’s GPS..Joyce led the way..we start it off by going to Tugu Negara..and to our amaze, it was super huge!! It looks bigger when you’re there compare to the one in a postcard or something.. When I saw all the names of all the soldiers that fought for our country and died at battle..it really made me think..it was a little eerie but it made me so proud of them..THANKS SOLDIERS!!!

Next we head over to the National Museum..costs RM2 per entry..They have 4 galleries.. from the ancient Paleolitic to today.. There were all histories of all the states in Malaysia, 3D videos, manikins impersonator, and lots more..it was worth it to visit the museum..


ok..now we're on our way to Genting..It was a very slow ride up the hill..it was really very steep compare to Cameron Highlands..As soon as we got there, we checked in and did the usual stuff..whne we got to the indoor park...we were really excited and can't even wait a sec..so we bought the ticket and started off our adventure..well i must say when we were queuing for the indoor roller coaster..i was already shaking..but i thought what the heck..so i went for it..i made my younger bro, doz, to sit with me.hahaha..then the first ride was really very nervous..then we actually love it and we ride it for 3 times..cool.. so it was the usual with the indoors..play games here and there..not too extreme.. will let you in on the outdoor..which is more FUN!!!

Day 4 (16th March 2009)

What a bright sunny day this morning..i woke up with a smile on my face.. We kick off our day by going to Sunway Pyramid..yah yah we’ve been here..but this time is for a different reason..as soon as we got there, we went to the ice ring..hahaha..i didn’t believe that I let my bro put me up to this..he said..maybe we have a natural talent in skating..we actually paid and entered the ring..OMG..i only can tell you that I SUCK! But I think my brother did really well..i was like..one step at a time..stay cool..relax..how come ppl can skate? But for sure I didn’t regret trying..it was an awesome experience..

After that, we were too hungry that we wanted to eat at Wendy’s..we have been planning to eat there since in Penang..but guess what? We we re looking around..seeking for a nice food. Then we came at this Vietnamese food. Wanted to try but it just didn’t seem right.. so we went to this Tony Roma’s.. I can say that the setting of this restaurant is exactly like TGI Friday’s..Only that TGI is more cozy.. So after talking, we decided to eat here.. oh my , when the food that we ordered came…It was like a 10 person meal..so much but the price is so good..example..i had this “Tony’s Roma’s Asian Salad” and it was like only RM16.90 with a free soup and fries..that’s so cheap and it ‘s so very nice…will add pictures later.. So mom had fish and chips, my bro had beef rib and the other one had Sirloin Cheddar Grille..All were fantastic! They also have this promotion where if you dine in at 3 to 6 pm , you can buy any coffee for RM 0.50 only..So I got the latte and mom got the Espresso and the original price for each is RM 8.90..can you believe it? it’s a really good deal..So for those who lives in KL, you must try..whoever is coming to KL, you must try too..I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!! It’s slightly cheaper than TGI Fridays..

Next stop was to Damansara- The curve..it was really nice but not too many stuff..but the restaurant want awesome..the way they made it into a street..wanted to have a drink but was too full from eating at Roma’s.. so we went off to IKEA.. and guess again..i met my senior from Normah in IKEA..she was like oh hi…the world is so small…coz it is..i didn’t expect to see her there..Too small..lol..again another downs when Lah got really thirsty and we were really struggling to put a ringgit note into the machine..but it was being crazy..so he end up drinking at a cooler…

The last stop for today was a drink in Bangsar…we went to an Indian Shop that only sells tosai..he sells a lot of different ones..i think maybe about a hundred..but we kept on turning , but didn’t remember which one..then we wanted to drink at the School Bus…but Firdaus(my younger bro) was with us..and since the school bus was a “not for kidsplace” so we had to find elsewhere..finally we sat down somewhere..i cant remember.. and drank the tarik..awesome!!

Went home and I end up doing the laundry..it was so long that I fell a sleep on the sofa..i don’t know if anyone seen me. I even dreamt..lol..i need some SLEEP!! Goodnight ppl..owh..did I tell you , we’re going to genting tomorrow..YAY!!later!

Day 3 (15th March 2009)

Day 3 is already here..We wanted to do our laundry so we brought it together..went into the monorail and head to Bukit Bintang.. then the best part, the laundry shop was close..we asked around for any other laundry shop, then a taxi man told us, there’s no laundry shop that is open in KL on Sunday..(so any tourists who wants to do your laundry..dont do it on Sunday in KL) ..so we thought crap..what do we do with the laundry..we forgot about it for a while and went for breakfast at a mamak stall in Bukit Bintang..I think they have the best fish curry.. Owh and then suddenly we heard a loud bang..a kembara hit a waja..what a scene it was.. so back to the laundry..it was really heavy and we thought..ok we need to sent it back..so here my mom and bro stayed at BB and my younger bro and me went back to the hotel to sent back the laundry..i even had time for a short bath..it was hot..;)


Next we head down to central market and petaling street..Central market had changed a lot..it is really beautiful now. and guess what, we had a foot massage there and it was so wonderful..firdaus (my younger bro) sat there and watch us when a monkey suddenly appear.. he said he thought it was a baby..lol..when he sees properly, then he knew it was a monkey..and it is super small..(sorry..dont have a picture of it) And as for petaling street, it hasn’t change a bit..whoever wants to come here..please make sure you know that you must bargain with them..or you will get slaughtered..trust me;)

Then, we wanted to go to The gardens.. so we followed the pudu way as the dataran was blocked…a bus was behind us and he wanted to overtake even it was so jam..so he went out of the line and guess what? MY HEART REALLY FELT DOWN TO MY FEET!!!! He hit my car! That crazy bus driver.. then we stopped him and he end up putting his hand up..how can he be so rude? I don’t know.. anyway im passed that..but the fact that I got my car hit in KL is so not cool..:(

When we reach The Gardens and Midvalley..i was like..ok I need to breakeven.. so we went to eat at Rak Thai..a Thai cuisine which has the nicest food the last time we ate there..only this time..the food was still really good but the service was SUPER HORRIBLE!!!how could my day get any worse ..after that..we were too tired to argue..so we walk a bit and end up drinking at Gloria Jeans..I remember drinking at KLCC and now the taste is still so original and nice..i highly recommend those fruit lovers to try Mixed berry smoothies..it’s SUPERB! I think I deserve that after a long bad day..

Day 2 (14th March 2009)

Day 2..we woke up at 6am and were really pump up for an exciting day..

We left the hotel at around 7.15am and the first we went to is the Petronas Twin tower for the Skybridge visit... Here, the admission was free but we need to queue up for the tickets.. They only give out 1000 tickets per day.. so we need to queue up for like one and a half hour till they open the ticket counter. But the good things..we had some of Auntie Anne’s pretzel.. which I highly recommend it to others..the sour cream is a MUST TRY!! Anyway …Once in the lobby of the tower, there’s a lot of like “crack the head” puzzle..we solve a few..pretty good huh;) When it’s time to go up there..they said the skybridge is at level 41 of the tower and level 42 is only for the workers.

As soon as we step onto the bridge..u can’t imagine the feeling..it’s like..jumping of a plane or something.you can see all the views of KL which is simply superb! You can see everything from here..

After that we got all excited about PETRONAS and wanted to try the petrosains..So we went into KLCC and bought the tickets..surprisingly it was only RM21 for both the petrosains and dinotrek..coz we checked earlier on..it was like RM15 per person..so whoever who want to come here..you should come here and not see the internet.so we went inside the dino trek and see a lot of things..and the best part was we took a picture and emailed it right away..i can tell you..the visit to the dinotrek was awesome..i would give a 8 out of 10..that’s good enough I guess..what you think?

Then, we were queuing for the petrosains..it was a little stressful..but when they called us to enter the “sort of like a moving car”..i call it pacman;) you'll see what i mean when i see the pictures..hmm did i take o not..cant remember.. by the way.. i can tell you, if you ever come here to kl, you must experience this..the entrance was already awesome..i even got both my elbows stratch when i was sliding down a tunnel..it was too fast..can't ever imagine me on a roller coaster..

After that, we had a quick bite at the food court there..it was the nearest though..i ordered prawn mee and it's nice..but i think Old Town's still the best! Go try it out..

All we did after that was just taking some pictures..

We end our day with a nice sleep in the hotel..

My Roadtrip from Penang to KL

Day 1 (13th March 2009)

I was really excited when I got home that morning from a usual , boring but hectic night duty.. I could still remember forgetting one of my very important personal thing that I was supposed to throw it into my bag..which I didn’t..:P

My mom, 2 brothers and me left for KL from Penang at 9.23am..I couldn’t really think of the whole 3 and half hours in the car as I was asleep the whole trip..owh wait.. I think I remember waking up around 11.27a.m when there was a traffic jam in the middle of no where..A JAM ..Can you ever believe it? Then I went to sleep again.

We arrived in KL at around 12.57pm. and Lah’s GPS a.k.a Joyce..was like “drive 3.3 metres and keep left..but the right hand side sign board was showing “Pusat Bandar(meaning..City) ..we were reluctant to turn left but …when you have Joyce ..then I guess you should be listening to her..only I will name my GPS in future as…hmmm let’s see..maybe Derek..hehe.. Btw..we did turn left and we were on the right track.. but I could tell you, KL was no different than the last time I came here..there were cars here and there..so hectic.. but we got to our hotel at 1.47pm.

After resting for about 1 hours, we went to Berjaya Times Square via monorail. But it doesn’t seems that nice the last time I was there. Wanted to go for the theme park ride..but was too afraid of the roller coaster..lol.. the time was fast and we areed to go for the theme park ride..but was too afraid of the roller coaster..lol.. the time was fast and we are already hungry so we dine in at the Hartz Chicken Buffet..thinking the last time we ate at The Hartz Chicken Buffet was in Sarawak Plaza in kuching and that was like a couple of years ago..To our dissappoinment.. it was horrible..i guess that was going to be the last time we will be eating there.

Walking here and there...lastly brings us back to Bukit Bintang..wanted to have a drink..but too many ppl..sesak giler...maybe it's the weekend so...you know..We finished up our day with a stop at The Hard Rock Cafe KL for some merchandise.. , but ..too bad..not to our liking ( not so nice)..

A short half day here in KL but it's going to be a long one tomorrow..
